Lille, the largest city in the north of France, is the economic, cultural, educational and transportation centre of northern France. The real meaning of Lille’s name is an island on the “Fish River”. In 2004, Lille was chosen as the European cultural capital.
Some time ago, the Lille City Government announced the launch of a new city image logo, the new logo "Hello Lille" will become a brand new cultural symbol of Lille. The arc below "h" is a smiley face, and two of the "Lille" are stretched and shared by "ll" in "Hello". The two long vertical lines also symbolize The clock tower of the city hall.
